COVID-19: WORKING TOGETHER TO REDUCE THE RISK

SC Physiotherapy remains open during Tier 4 Restrictions

The CSP (Chartered Society of Physiotherapy) is keen to reassure patients that physiotherapy services across the UK can remain open no matter what level of lockdown restrictions their area is subject to.

This includes private and independent sectors.

With the lockdown just around the corner, our clinical services will remain fully open as per the government guidelines.

We will continue to provide safe, face to face manual, rehab and Pilates sessions and classes.

What I am doing to reduce the risk?

During our appointment, I will carry out as much of the assessment and treatment as possible at the Government recommended ‘social distance’ of at least 2 metres away from you.

Because some parts of you consultation and treatment will need me to be in much closer contact with you, I will be using the following ‘Personal Protective Equipment’ (PPE)

Face mask.
Disposable apron.
Disposable, latex free gloves (with the exception of during manual therapy where we have agreed that this is appropriate. In this case, hand gel will be applied before and after any ‘hands on’ contact).
I will need to wash my hands with soap and water immediately before and after your appointment and if I am seeing you in your home, I would be grateful if I could use your facilities for this. I also carry alcohol sanitising hand gel with me.

How can you help reduce the risk?

Please wear a face mask or other face covering during your appointment.
Please wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before and after your appointment. You may also wish to use ‘hard surface’ wipes for any surfaces that have been touched once your appointment has finished.
Please make sure that other members of your house hold are not present during your appointment. This is especially important if you have family members who are especially vulnerable to Covid-19 or who are shielding.
